WUT Researcher Visits Lviv Polytechnic During Secondment At CARAT
As part of the TeraHertz project’s secondment programme, Prof. Yevhen Yashchyshyn from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) carried out a research secondment at SRC “ELECTRON-CARAT” (CARAT) in Lviv. During his stay, he visited Lviv Polytechnic National University (LPNU) to deliver a seminar for the project team and colleagues, sharing the results of his work and discussing directions for the period ahead.
A Seminar on Modelling Results and THz Research
In his talk, Prof. Yashchyshyn presented the latest results of his modelling and simulation work and explained the focus of his activities within the project. As the leader of the Work Package dedicated to the investigation of selected materials in the THz range, he outlined the experimental and computational studies carried out at WUT, including the determination of the optical and dielectric responses of candidate materials and the modernisation of the terahertz spectroscopy setup. The presentation gave participants a clear picture of both the methods being applied and the scientific questions still to be addressed.
Strengthening Collaboration Within the Network
The seminar generated an engaged discussion among the participants, with questions and exchanges that helped connect the modelling work to the experimental activities pursued by other partners. This kind of in-person scientific exchange is exactly what the TeraHertz secondment programme is designed to foster: it deepens cross-institutional collaboration, supports the comparison of simulated and measured results, and ensures that the work carried out in different laboratories advances towards shared objectives.
Looking Ahead
The visit reflected the strong cooperation between the project’s partner institutions and the value of researcher mobility within the network. The TeraHertz team thanks Prof. Yashchyshyn for sharing his results and looks forward to building on this collaboration as the project moves forward.
